| Increase Space Storage |
To increase your storage space in a smaller bathroom, use the space over the tiolet tank. Use open shelving, glass shelves or a closed cabinet. These should be at least 6" deep.
| Extra Storage |
For extra storage space add a pull-out drawer in the bottom of the vanity cabinet if your plumbing protrudes out of the wall. You'll be able to organize this space more efficiently.
| Finishes and Styles |
Try to match all of your bathroom accessories with the same finish (faucets, handles and knobs, towel rack, toilet paper holder, etc.). This will create a more cohesive look.
| Vanity Finish |
Be careful to which grade of sheen you use for your cabinetry. Low-sheen will not protect your wood doors from absorbing the humidity and warping.
| Countertops |
Consider an acrylic surface for your countertops in any bathroom, if you find the colour you like in the solid surface collection. It will give you a nice cohesive look on a small surface. It is easy to clean, durable and less expensive than granite or quartz.
| Vanity Sink |
Remember to choose the right sink for the right bathroom. A sink in a small powder room may be 15" wide maximum, check your cabinet when trying to plan for a larger sink, if required.
| Faucets |
You have more options when selecting 8" wide spread faucets to use in your master ensuite and other rooms, but for a powder room, consider the single-lever style faucet.
